It’s Wagons HO at the Real County Public Library! We are so excited to announce the launch of the TexasAmerica250 Campaign! This wonderful year-long event will highlight the strategic role Texas has played in the 250-year history of AmericaRead on to find out how kids can earn reading credits and qualify for special prizes, too.

NEW! NEW! NEW! The associated TexasAmerica250 traveling exhibit, courtesy of the Texas State Library Association, has arrived and is displayed in our beautiful lobby for all of our Library patrons and visitors to enjoy. Note to Self:  Come check it out and learn about some of the history that makes Texas so great!

As a part of the celebratory campaign, we are including the statewide TexasAmerica250 Reading Challenge for children of all ages. Just click on the TexasAmeria250 link here to discover the adventures that await young readers. Included on this site will be:

Young people will be asked to bring in their Reading Challenge logs for librarians to review.  A selection of prizes will be made available and winners will be announced all throughout the year.  And remember, the Reading Challenge is about more than just reading – attend any library event or visit any and every Texas State Park (Did you know Texas is home to 89 State Parks!) to earn extra points, too!

We also want to share with you that the TexasAmerica250 press releases, spotlighting the Library’s involvement, have been sent to local media and are included with this information for your review.
