Who We Are
The Real County Public Library Leakey provides recreational, informational, and educational materials and service to all age groups residing in the county and the state of Texas. The Library provides materials both in print and non-print, as suggested by public request and as possible with available funds. The Library strives to develop broad community awareness of its services. It supplements, but does not necessarily duplicate, the materials and services of other libraries in the area.
The Real County Public Library Leakey is located at 225 Main St (at the corner of Evergreen) in downtown Leakey, Texas. The Library provides free services to all residents of and visitors to Real County and the Frio Canyon.
The library system holds over 17,180 materials including adult books (regular, LARGE PRINT, paperback, and audio books on CD), teen and children's books, and movies on DVD.
In total, over 10,000 items were checked out of the Library during 2015. In addition to these items, over 21,181 people entered the library to utilize print and electronic reference resources, access the Internet through one of the library's 10 public computers or through their own device, enjoy state-of-the-art Wi-Fi service, make photocopies, send a fax, participate in story hour, attend a training class, or view a Library exhibit.
Our friendly and professional staff and volunteers are eager to serve you. Welcome to the Real County Public Library!
Owned and operated by the Friends of the Library Association, the Real County Public Library owes its success to the vision and hard work of its many current and past donors and tireless volunteers.
